Privacy Policy — SplitWing

Last updated: 25 August 2026

SplitWing ("the Game," "we," "us") is a single-player and online-multiplayer arcade flying game. This policy explains what information the Game handles and why. The short version: we do not run user accounts and we do not use third-party analytics. The Game does show ads, which are served by Google AdMob, and it offers a single optional purchase that removes them. It also keeps an online profile — a display name and your game records — so that multiplayer ranking and the leaderboard can work.

Information stored on your device

The Game stores the following locally on your device only. It is never transmitted to us, sold, or shared with third parties:

You can erase all of this at any time by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the Game.

Your online profile

The Game keeps a profile for you on our server so that ranked multiplayer, personal records and the leaderboard can work. There is no account, no password and no sign-up: the profile is keyed by an install ID — a random identifier generated on your device the first time the Game runs. It contains no information about you or your device, it is not the advertising ID, and it is not shared with any third party. Clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the Game discards it, and a fresh install generates a new one.

The profile holds:

The profile is created the first time you play online, and not before: if you only ever play single-player, nothing about you is sent to us and no profile exists. Once you have played online, your records are uploaded whenever they change. Your display name and ranking are publicly visible to other players — on the in-game leaderboard and in multiplayer lobbies — so please do not use your real name if you would rather not be identified. Nothing else in the profile is shown to other players.

We do not use this profile to build an advertising or marketing profile of you, and we do not sell it or share it with third parties.

Online multiplayer

When you start or join an online match, the Game establishes a direct peer-to-peer (WebRTC) connection between the players in your room. To set up that connection, a small amount of technical data is exchanged through a signaling relay server:

The signaling relay forwards this connection-setup data between players. It is used in transit to establish the session, is not retained once the match ends, and is not used to build a profile of you. The only information we keep after a match is the online profile described above.

Advertising

The Game is free and shows a full-screen ad when you choose to continue after a run ends. Ads are served by Google AdMob, a Google service. To select and measure ads, the AdMob SDK reads your device's advertising ID (Android Advertising ID, or Apple's IDFA where you have allowed tracking) along with coarse technical information about the device and the ad request. That data is collected by Google under Google's own privacy policy; we do not receive it and we do not build a profile of you from it.

Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA and the UK) you are shown a consent form before personalised ads are used, and on iOS the system tracking prompt applies. You can reset or limit your advertising ID at any time in your device settings.

In-app purchase

The Game offers one optional, one-time purchase — the supporter product — which permanently removes ads. It is the only thing sold in the Game: there is no in-game currency, no loot box and no subscription.

The transaction itself is handled entirely by the platform store — Google Play on Android and the App Store on iOS. We never see or receive your payment details: no card number, no billing address, and no store account identifier ever reaches the Game or us. Payment data is collected and processed by the store under its own privacy policy.

What the Game keeps is a single local yes/no flag recording that the product is owned. That flag is a cache in front of the store receipt, which is what actually proves the purchase; the Game re-checks the receipt with the store on launch and when you tap Restore purchases. The flag never leaves the device — it is not uploaded to us, and there is no account of yours on any server of ours to hold it. Restoring on a new device works because the store, not we, remembers the purchase.

Permissions

None of the permissions below shows you a prompt: Android grants them all at install time, and none of them gives the Game access to your camera, microphone, location, contacts, photos or files. Most are added automatically by the Google advertising and billing libraries the Game includes rather than requested by the Game itself. In full, on Android:

Children

The Game is suitable for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. It has no user accounts, and we run no analytics or trackers of our own. It does contain third-party advertising and one optional in-app purchase, both described above; the store's own parental controls govern whether a purchase can be made on a given device.

Keeping and deleting your data

Your online profile is kept for as long as the Game is in service, so that your records and ranking are still there when you come back. There is no account to close, and nothing about you is retained beyond the fields listed under Your online profile.

You can have the profile deleted at any time. Write to the contact address at the end of this policy from any address, quoting the install ID shown in Settings ▸ Statistics, and we will delete the profile row and any stored match records that refer to it. We will confirm once it is done. Deleting the Game from your device without asking us leaves the profile orphaned but unreachable — no future install can reach it, because the install ID that addressed it is gone.

Data security

Multiplayer signaling is performed over encrypted connections (WSS/HTTPS), and WebRTC peer connections are encrypted by default.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
